The Art and Craft of fine printing kept alive in the High Rockies!
At the Fairplay Press we are thankful that each day we are able to be at High Altitude in the famous (or infamous) South Park, Colorado atop Redhill Ridge. From our shop windows sunrise lights up the 14,000 foot peaks of the Continental Divide far across the valley and the sunsets are spectacular, providing an endless variety of natural beauty to contemplate.
Below us runs the Middle Fork of the South Platte River and the best Gold Medal trout fishing in the USA. At night the procession of moon, planets and the stars of the Milky Way captures and stimulates our imaginations. All in all, one heck of a place to live and work.
In the shop we produce unique printed items using our 1929 Chandler and Price
Craftsman 12 x 18, 10 x 15 Heidelberg Windmill and hand-operated Imperial press.
The Chandler and Price is used to produce fine letterpress work and die cutting while the Heidelberg Windmill is used for hot foil stamping, embossing and die cutting. The Imperial Stamping press is perfect for short run foil imprinting and embossing. We also produce raised letter (thermography) utilizing our vintage hand fed Virkotype heat tunnel.
Forty years of experience have taught us the importance of attention to detail and providing outstanding
